Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 July 2026
This policy explains what information SipQuest collects, why, and the choices you have. SipQuest ("the app") is operated by SamTech Solutions ("we", "us", "our"). By using SipQuest you agree to this policy.
On this page
The short version: SipQuest is a social nightlife companion built for fun. We collect what we need to run your sessions and your account — nothing about your real blood-alcohol level, health, or location beyond your device's country. We don't sell your data. You can export or delete everything from inside the app.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address, display name, and a profile photo if you have one, plus a unique account identifier from the sign-in provider. You can edit your display name and avatar in the app.
- Session content. The nights you create or join, the drinks and waters you log, reactions, quests, nudges, and any photos ("snapshots") you add to a session. Drink logging records the type of drink for entertainment stats only — never a quantity of alcohol, blood-alcohol estimate, or any health measurement.
- Support messages. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details to respond.
Information collected automatically
- Device & technical data. Basic information needed to run the service — app version, device type, and a push-notification token so we can send you session alerts.
- Country / region. Your device's country setting is used to set the appropriate legal drinking age for the age gate. We do not collect your precise GPS location.
- Abuse & integrity signals. We use Google Play Integrity and Apple App Attest (via Firebase App Check) to help block bots and fraudulent sign-ups.
What we do NOT collect
SipQuest does not collect or calculate blood-alcohol content (BAC), sobriety, medical or health data, or your precise location. Every "vibe" metric in the app (Chaos Index, Side Quest Energy, Hydration Plot Armor, and similar) is fictional and for entertainment only.
2. How we use your information
- To create and run your account, sessions, and recaps.
- To power live commentary, group vibe meters, quests, nudges, and shareable recaps.
- To send push notifications about your sessions (you can turn these off in your device settings).
- To process purchases of Quest Tokens and the extras they unlock.
- To keep the service safe — preventing abuse, spam, and fraudulent accounts, and handling reports of inappropriate content.
- To respond to your support requests and to comply with legal obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the app work, and only as needed:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google (Firebase) | Sign-in, push notifications, bot protection (App Check) |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases |
| Google Play | Android purchases |
| RevenueCat | Managing and validating in-app purchases |
| Cloudflare (R2) | Storing session photos and avatars |
| Fly.io | Hosting the SipQuest backend server |
| Anthropic | Generating AI narrator commentary (only when enabled — see below) |
| Postmark | Operational emails, such as content-report alerts |
Each provider processes data only to deliver its part of the service. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.
4. AI narrator
SipQuest includes an optional AI narrator. When someone in your session turns it on, the app sends limited session context — such as the type of drink logged, quest events, and display names — to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a short line of commentary. This context is used only to produce that commentary in the moment. Commentary in the app may be AI-generated. If the AI narrator is not enabled, no session data is sent to the AI provider and the app uses pre-written commentary instead.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and session data while your account is active so your history and recaps remain available. Session photos remain until the session is cleaned up or you or the account is deleted. When you delete your account, we remove or irreversibly anonymize your personal information, keeping only what we're required to retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons (for example, a minimal record of a purchase).
6. Your rights and choices
- Access & export. You can request an export of your data from within the app.
- Delete. You can delete your account and its personal data at any time from the profile screen. This is permanent.
- Edit. You can change your display name and avatar in the app.
- Push notifications. Turn them off in your device's system settings.
- Block & report. You can block other users and report photos or accounts inside the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA — including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at support@samtech.solutions. We don't sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, per-user authorization on every request, and rate limiting against abuse. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
8. Age and children
SipQuest is intended only for adults of legal drinking age — 21+ in the United States, or the legal drinking age where you live. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the legal drinking age. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use SipQuest after an update means you accept the revised policy.
